MEMORY
In the first phase, the two most pressing problems that the Hospital has from a healthcare point of view are being solved, which are its shortcomings in the areas of emergency and outpatient consultations and functional tests. Acting on each of these areas in new implementations requires developing the corresponding connections of these units with the current central services of the hospital, without prejudice to the future connection with the definitive services.
In the second phase, the aim is to give continuity to Phase I. To do this, the same façade material and the same window compositions are used, using on ground floors the greatest possibility of opening gaps to improve lighting.
The meshes that cover the facilities are also planned as those of Phase 1, based on metal-wire supports and lattices. The substantial change proposed in this phase is that the hospital’s traffic is clearly differentiated.
It is structured with two North-South corridors, which run along a scheme of interior courtyards that contain the vertical communication cores between them and, along them, different support areas for the serviced areas, as well as facilities.
