MEMORY
The project, which is part of the Community of Madrid’s Health City, will add more than 550,000 m2 of built surface area for healthcare, teaching and research activities, doubling the current surface area. The hospitalization area will have 1,140 beds and another 218 reserve beds for possible increases in demand. All rooms will be single, although 30% will have the capacity to double occupancy. The surgical area will consist of 49 operating rooms, including hybrid and robotic. There will be 243 day hospital, 194 ICU and 255 emergency room positions. It will stand out for its functional organization, with central services, outpatient departments and hospitalization towers organized by activity so that workflows are optimized by specialties and pathologies. Humanization will be achieved throughout the building thanks to large courtyards that will allow natural light to enter each of the rooms (4,723 m² in adults) and offer more comfort to patients, companions and professionals, who will be able to make use of landscaped terraces and recreation areas.
